Compose the geometry; the music and the visuals live in it. A shape turns, and each vertex that crosses the axis sounds a note.

An instrument
in four movements.
GeoMusica begins from the geometry of the old traditions: proportion, symmetry, the circle divided. You shape those forms through their numbers, and the music follows from what you set.
First of all, he took away one part of the whole (1), and then he separated a second part which was double the first (2) … and a seventh part which was twenty-seven times the first (27).

Number becomes form; form becomes sound.
The numbers of the tradition are the controls: square roots, harmonic ratios, the metallic means, geometric growth, the circle divided, Euclidean distributions, fractal subdivision, modular operations, stellations, composite roots, knots, unicursal paths and tessellations.
A noble philosopher spoke of architecture as frozen music … We believe that no better repetition of this fine thought can be given than by calling architecture a speechless music.
Geometry is harmony perceived in space. Music is harmony experienced through time. GeoMusica composes the passage between them.

04 / Lineage
A line drawn
through time.
GeoMusica began in 2016 during a three-year study of Sacred Geometry with Luís Elye. It became a live performance system, then a public open-source TouchDesigner project. It is now a self-contained native instrument.
Ten years of research, in public. The original instrument is still open source.
Music, also, the architect ought to understand so that he may have knowledge of the canonical and mathematical theory.
Architecture brought the matrices, music was the core, programming the bridge. GeoMusica reconnects two arts once studied together in the Quadrivium.
